| On the front porch of the McLean House in Appomattox Court House where the Civil War came to an end. The owner Wilmer McLean had owned a farm near Bull Run where the first major battle of the war took place. He moved here to get away from the war. The war literally started in his front yard and ended in his front parlor. |
