USS Yorktown (CV-10) at the Patriot Point Naval and Maritime
museum in Mount Pleasant on Charleston Harbor. The Yorktown
earned 11 battle stars during World War II and served into
the 1960's and the Vietnam war. In
1968 she was used to recover the command module from the
Apollo 8 mission, the first to travel to the moon. |
