in St. Paul. Alexander Ramsey was Minnesota's first Territorial
Governor and later served as the State's second State Governor
during the Civil War. Governor Ramsey was in Washington, DC at the outbreak of the war and was the first governor to offer troops to the federal government for the war effort. The former Governor built this home
in 1872. |
