I never knew there was a giant ball of twine less then TWO HOURS from my house! In the pilot episode, armed only with an Atlas and their enthusiasm, Roger and Haley visit Minnesota and Wisconsin’s capitals, roadside oddities, and tourist attractions as they work their way across the country maintaining a grueling schedule.
The 50 States 50 Days pilot episode does a great job of capturing the spontaneity and the art of the “road trip”. For example a spur of the moment stop at a hey… I mean HAY field along with the customary travel games every family has played for generations. Each destination is narrated with fascinating and educational facts which keep the viewer interested, entertained, and informed. Add in beautiful scenery and you have a show that makes 50 States/50 Days appealing to both children and adults of all ages in a way few shows do these days.
There’s a definite chemistry between Roger and Haley. Both are cast well without being the cliché male/female co hosts. Haley brings an enthusiasm and infectious laugh and is clearly knowledgeable about the science side while Roger is the travel expert who flirts with the role of straight man. Both are charming and likeable and clearly educated about what they’re showing the audience. And most importantly, it never feels like what they’re doing is work. You can tell they’re having fun and you want to see and do the things they’re doing.
I’m trying to find a weekend in the near future to go see Minnesota’s Largest Ball of Twine. And that could be the best endorsement for 50 States/50 Days that I could offer.

I loved Fifty States Fifty Days, I stayed up until the whole thing was complete. I thought it was cute when you two were sitting down eating chilli. I couldnt stop laughing. It really seems like somthing that I can see myself watching on tv. I also like when she had the leech on her foot talking about it. I think its going to be cool!

I´m a huge fan of the USA, and have since 1993 traveled 47 states, next week I´m going back to the USA to visit the last 3 states (south carolina, north carolina, and hawaii). I have really enjoyed to look at your pictures, but also the rest of your webpage.
I´m from Copenhagen in Denmark, if you ever visit Denmark, let me know.
