I just want to thank you for giving me a tour
of the United States! I think your site has got to be the most
AWESOME site I have ever been to on the internet....and that
is 8 years of surfing!! I think you are the luckiest man alive!
One day I hope to travel to all states. (Actually any state.
Haven't been out of California in 35 years and I am 35 yrs old!
Ha!) Anyway, thanks for the tour! It has been great.

This is an extremely nifty web site! Thanks
for sharing your interest this way. As a "provider of resources"
and for my own "love of cool stuff around America" this is a
fun and informative site. Thank you!

I've had fun going through your site. I don't
know how many of these emails like this you've gotten, but if
there have been a lot I hope you can stand one more.
Like you, I had gotten bitten by the welcome-sign
bug. When I first stumbled upon your site I was already well
on my way towards finishing what I call the grand tour. In fact,
I'm still there, as I just passed the four-year mark on my own
project and my welcome sign completion rate is currently 35
of 50 (with #36 to be added in late August). State capitols
I have 32 of 50, and Canadian provincial capitols I have one
(go Manitoba!).
I just started on a whim; a friend and I were
in Boston back in 1999 and I gave him my camera, saying, "Hey
V, take my picture. I'm going to take a picture in front of
all 50 state capitols." Somewhere along the line I decided that
I would not make Alaska or Hawaii the final chapter of this
story, as intuition would tell me that anyone who had done this
before us would likely have finished there, given their remote
situation, and that Alaskans and Hawaiians would be tired of
this whole thing by now. Nevadans, on the other hand....
I started putting a website about my exploits
together, and two and a half years, 30,000 words, lots of work,
one previous launch, and one disappearing web host later, it's
ready. I figured that July 4 would be as good a day as any.
I'm writing to let you know that I've included
your site on my links page. As I find more weirdos like us I'll
add them as well. My site is located at http://www.jimpoz.com/project50/.
So far I've found only one sign that we've shared;
that lonely little Nebraska sign on US-75 north of Topeka. Although
I thought a year or so ago you had a picture of a Pennsylvania
sign on I-78 as well; mine is there too, but the actual signs
were different.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks,
Jim Poserina

I think I'm in love with ... your website
You made me laugh my ass off this morning at work! While surfing
the web for info on the 4 corners National Monument (I'm in
the middle of planning my 19 day road trip across America this
August.) I stumbled across your most impressive website. I am
a travel freak & when I saw your site I was amazed at the amount
of work you put into it. Not just your travels, the story telling
and phototgraphy, even the compiling of info, but the organization
of that site is incredible. One of my goals is to see all 50
states- and after this trip I'll only have 10 left. But, I feel
bad now that I didn't come up with the idea of getting a picture
of myself in front of all the welcome signs. Damn you!

My summer school class and I were working on
an assignment when we stumbled across your page. I think it
is cool , but then I'm a huge nerd.

Greetings from Sioux Falls, SD. Today I found
your website by accident while trying to get to a Crazy Horse
Memorial website. I'm at work and "Super Scout" likes to deny
access to anything fun or interesting. Luckily, "Super Scout"
doesn't know about your site! It's fantastic! I only wish I
would have found it sooner. I was an elementary school teacher
for six years and your site would have been so cool for the
kids to look at. Well, even though I'm not officially a teacher
anymore, I'm still going to tell all the teachers I know about
your site so that they can use it. I also volunteer at the Sioux
Falls Multi-Cultural Center and work part-time at the Falls
Park Visitor and Information Center. I'm going to print the
"home" page of your site and put it out where visitors
can see it. I'm sure anyone who likes to travel (or wishes they
could) would love your site.
Thank you so much for your wonderful web-site!
I love it!
