My name is Bill and I am from Ohio. I am almost
20 years old, and I am a sophomore in college. I saw your page
and it looked wonderful. I myself am interested in creating
a similar one. Before I saw the page, one of my goals is to
hit all 50 states; I even thought about getting to every high
point. So far I have seen 29 states, and I have several pictures
of state welcome signs (Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, Utah,
New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and California to name a few).
My best friend and I are planning on driving across the United
States in the summer of 2003. We cannot wait. Email me back
and tell me if I should create a similar one about my travels.
Good luck on your highpointing by the way. Fabulous page,
Bill L.

the Thrill does America
found your webpage through the highpointers
forum. Awesome pictures throughout. Since 1991 we been going
to State Capitols and Presidential Sites. We've been to 41 states,
38 Capitols and 29 Presidents Graves and numerous houses.
We been doing highpoints since 1992 -- up to
28 on those.
I wish I knew how to do webpages -- would love
to do one similar to yours to share our travel adventures. I
have a map of the US in my room with all our trips outlined.
Also bought map pins of different colors to point out all the
landmarks we been to.

Very interesting site. There was an article
in this morning's newspaper (St
Louis Post-Dispatch 1-20-02) that highlighted your website.
I had to go see it for myself. Someday maybe I will get to all
of the states, too (I am up to 44.) I've gone way out of my
way just to get a new state, and apparently from the look of
your map, you have to. But when that is the point of the trip
it all does make sense. I guess people who track their trips
counting all the states have tended to be a little weird. I
am glad to be a part of that group. Your website is a fine tribute
to this endeavor.

Hi Roger, My name is Tony Sinatra from Pittsburgh,
PA. I'm 33 years old and for the past 13 years have been saving
welcome signs myself. I have 33 states, Ontario, and a "Welcome
to the United States". My collection of pictures is one of my
most prized possessions! It was exciting to compare the signs
we have in common and to "relive" the memories associated with
each sign! THANK YOU!

Hi! I almost flipped when I saw where your first
picture was taken because the first road welcome sign picture
I have is of Iowa! It was three summers ago and of the OM team
I was going to the worlds competition at the University of Iowa.
Then it was just a one picture deal, but this June my friend
and I decided to take pictures of all the welcome signs we can.
(This was before I had ever seen your page.) So far this summer
we took one in Indiana and in Michigan on the way to the Warren
Sand Dunes in Michigan. Next week we will be taking ones on
the way to the beach in Georgia. I know it's only a few but
a start for my collection. There are still many more road trips
to come! Well I just wanted to tell you that I enjoyed your
page and how excited I was to see all the pictures on it!

Great Job! Thoroughly enjoyed your photos, I
think I'll start my own collection now! Best of luck with the
film.

Ok, I don't get to travel much, but this weekend
I am helping my brother -in-law by going with him to Philadelphia
from Huntsville, Alabama. I don't know what the cool roadside
attractions that are good photo spots are. You know, giant fiberglass
chicken type stuff...... I searched the internet for roadside
attractions in TN, VA, and PA, but don't get much. After seeing
your site, I think I'll get Tom to take pics of me at the state
lines. I'll get TN, VA, West V, Del, and PA. And if we do it
right we may get DC.

I came across your web page and thought it was
great, especially the money the US spent on their sign:-) I
am however interested in viewing small town welcome signs do
you know a good web page for that? It is to bad that Jay Leno
did not put you on! I got on his Monday night Headlines for
the Clifton Bed Races it was the talk in this small town of
1400 for awhile. Thanks for your time.

I think these pictures are quit an accomplishment.
It is something that I had envisioned doing as well but have
never gotten around to doing.

P. S. I have been to the Geographic center of North America
in Rugby. It is quite an out of the way place
